Jesus is the Bread of Life
Have you ever read a passage of Scripture that made you completely recoil? In John chapter 6, Jesus drops one of the most jarring, scandalous, and downright wild teachings in the entire New Testament. He looks at a massive crowd of followers and tells them that if they want eternal life, they have to "eat His flesh and drink His blood."
It sounded like cannibalism. It violated every religious law they knew. In fact, it was so offensive that thousands of His own disciples packed their bags and walked away from Him forever.
In this sermon, we strip away 2,000 years of comfortable church tradition to feel the exact shockwave the original listeners felt. From cultural taste preferences like Brussels sprouts to high-stakes delicacies like the Japanese pufferfish, we explore how the things we choose to ingest have total control over our bodies.
But Jesus wasn't introducing a bizarre ritual or asking us to add more religious chores to our to-do lists. He was redefining what it means to truly believe. Are you coming to God just for a temporary "loaf of bread" to fix your current circumstances, or are you ready to rely on Him for your actual survival? It’s time to audit what your soul is consuming. Will you say "Naw" to the King, or are you ready to finally gnaw on the Bread of Life?
