Our Story

In 2008, Pastor Zach and Becky de Vaux started Orchard Church in a local home with less than a dozen in attendance each week.  In 2009, Orchard held their launch service on Easter in the parking lot of a local YMCA.  For a year they continued to meet at a  local YMCA in Fort Oglethorpe, GA.  From the YMCA to a shopping complex Orchard has continued to grow and minister to it's community.  

From the very beginning, Orchard has sought to reach our community for Christ.  One exciting opportunity that we engage in every year is the Free Yard Sale.  Each year we give away items to our community in order to better meet their needs.
For 15 years, Orchard has grown and expanding all the while reaching their community at a store front location.  

In 2019, following God's guidance, we began a Capital Campaign to raise funds for a new building.  Despite initial doubts from a church campaign consulting group, we exceeded our fundraising goal in just two years.   The goal was to raise $200,000. 

However, it took an additional two years to find a suitable building. During this time, various opportunities arose but ultimately fell through. Meanwhile, another local church faced a similar period of stagnation. In October 2023, we connected with this church and realized they needed new leadership while we needed a facility. Consequently, our two churches merged into Orchard Pointe, fulfilling both our prayers for a facility and their prayers for leadership. From our first meeting, through the merger and since our two churches have merged into one beautiful family.   Currently, we are undergoing extensive renovations to customize our space.  Our plans are to design our space to treasure the holy and foster community.  We plan to renovate all of our spaces from the sanctuary to children's rooms and from the interior to the 15 acre campus.  It is our desires to create a space for you and your family to encounter Jesus.
